Little Hearts Matter

Little Hearts Matter offers support and information and also raises awareness of those affected when a child has only half a heart, due to complex cardiac conditions.

They were originally set up in 1994 at the request of parents of children who had Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and were initially known as Left Heart Matters. They attempted to offer support to parents and their families out of Birmingham's Children Hospital and over the following two years they grew and in 1996 they applied for charitable status. Other cardiac centres throughout the UK began offering treatment and the charity's services expanded to meet the needs of their growing membership.

Their services included parent to parent telephone support, hospital visiting and yearly information Open Days.

Membership to Little Hearts Matter is open to anyone with a single ventricle heart condition as well as their parents, grandparents and siblings.
